WTF (Fudge!) Wednesday...

yeah, was going to go wordless.

But WTF Wednesday has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?

So I've had an issue with finding blueberries here.

Yes, blueberries.

I like buying blueberries. Muffins, pancakes.... just to nibble on.

I can get them in a tin here.

very expensy.

I can get them frozen here.

even more expensy.

Really. The only expensy thing here.

Then, lo and behold, I find these, this week:

Yay.

Cheap-as too.

Whoop.

I buy two packets.

Eager to examine how my blueberries are packaged I rip them open at home.

I find individually wrapped blueberries.

That's cool, I think.

So I open one, and am immediately impressed by the size of the blueberry, slightly bigger than normal...  and pop it into my mouth.

I bite down and hit a stone.

WTFudge!

and then I spend about 10 minutes trying to work out if I had just forgotten and that blueberries did have stones.

(sometimes I surprise myself even).

and then another 10 minutes thinking about how I would need to open each individual packet and de-stone each individual blueberry.....

(I know, so surprised!)

After telling myself how stupid I am... blueberries are berries.. no stones....

I have a look at the packet to just double check and to find out where these stony blueberries come from.

It says clearly on the back:

Product: Fresh Blueberries.

sweet, I think, it's a special 'type' of blueberry. And they're fresh too.

Then I read:

Ingredients: Fresh plum, Salt, White granulated sugar, Food additives: Brilliant Blue, Sunset yellow, Amaranthus red, Sodium cyclamate, Saccharin sodium, Radix glycyrrhiza, Citric acid, Sodium benzoate, Blueberry flavor, Edible essence.

And I'm back to square one.

I can't find cheap-ish blueberries here.
